RIYADH: Worshipers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah can now perform their rituals without the burden of carrying personal belongings, thanks to a newly launched smart luggage storage service.
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has set up six luggage collection points at the main gates. Using an advanced electronic tracking system with a smart response code, visitors can securely store their luggage and retrieve it quickly after completing their rituals.
This 24/7 service is especially available during Ramadan, allowing worshipers to safely leave their belongings at designated storage centers before entering the mosque. Luggage is stored on monitored shelves, ensuring maximum security.
The system features a check-in process that issues a smart bracelet containing a special code for electronic tracking. Luggage is transferred to secure storage areas with continuous monitoring and periodic alerts every four hours. Worshipers can retrieve their belongings by scanning the QR code, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
Storage centers are located near the Makkah Library in the eastern courtyard and opposite Gate No. 64 in the western courtyard in Shobaika.
